Welcome to my inspirational website for writers.

I've been earning all my income from my writing for many years.
During this time I've worked as a freelance writer, blogger, content writer, copywriter, novelist and book author.
I've written and published fiction and non-fiction and also co-authored two books for writers.
Over the years I've owned and operated as many as 11 websites at the same time.
For 10 years I ran another website for writers, which became really popular and in May 2016, I sold it for a large sum.
I now currently have 1 website and 1 blog -
https://RuthIsWriting.com (this website)
http://writeaholic-inspiraton.blogspot.com (my writing blog)
My first ever website for writers, which I created from scratch many years ago when I was living in the UK, wasn't elegant but it still got me started and helped me to make money from my writing. If you want a laugh you can see it here.
For many years after that, I also owned and operated another website for writers which I sold in 2016 for a ridiculously large amount of money. You can see what it used to look like here.
I use this website you're on now and my Writeaholic Inspiration blog to help others work from home as a writer.
It doesn't matter if you're a novice writer or a seasoned pro; if you're not earning enough money from your writing (or none at all), I'll show you how to earn a full-time income.
I'm always available for public appearances in and around the east coast of Australia and for online audio interviews. I'm also happy to review quality writing products.
I'm a vegan and a regular supporter and activist for Animals Australia.
I live with my husband Dean and our ex-racing greyhound, Banjo(AKA Perfect Phantom in his former racing days) who we adopted in May 2010 from Friends of the Hound. Sadly, Banjo passed away on 30th June 2018 at the age of 12.
Banjo loves crowds and Dean and I often walk him in the city (see the image above of Banjo and I on the Storey Bridge in Brisbane) and on the South Bank of the city.
In February 2014 we also adopted Daisy, another ex-racing greyhound (and ex-breeding dog and ex blood dog - poor Daisy) from Friends of the Hound. Sadly, after 2 1/2 brief years, Daisy passed away due to kidney failure on 21st June 2016. However they were the most happy years I've ever seen a dog enjoy.
Playing For Real
by Ruth Barringham
"Scary stuff, well worth a read for horror fans.
Be afraid, be very afraid the next time you turn on your computer."
"Unassuming Australian author weaves a computer gaming story with so much nightmarish gore that the rest of us must pray it never happens."
"Great horror books like this don't come along very often, but I'm glad this one did.
"It's a scary read from start to finish. The first chapter opens right in the middle of the action, and the story just keeps going from there, all the way through to the end of the book."
"Some of the scenes are really scary and I definitely DON'T recommend reading this book in bed - you'll see what I mean when you read this book."
"I hope that someone makes this book into a movie because it would be really great."
"I came across Playing For Real on Amazon and bought it on a whim. I've never heard of Ruth Barringham before, but I am sure looking to see if she has written anything else.
"Top tip: read this book if you are into horror stories you won't be disappointed."
"This is a really good suspenseful horror story. I think it would also make an excellent movie. I thought there couldn't be another horror book based on a computer game that could be different from all the others already out there, but this was really compelling reading.
If you're looking for the next great horror author, this person is it."
"I got this book free from Amazon not holding out to much hope for it
I was surprised!!!
It was good from beginning to end
I didn't want to put it down
I hope this author write more"
My new Broncos' Notebook. It's new and it inspires me to write.
This is me with the other Buck the Bronco Mascot, not as sleek as his living counterpart further up this page, and unlike the living Buck the Bronco, this one DOES NOT have to run the perimeter of the field every time the Broncos score a try (for which, I'm sure, he is truly thankful).
